Re: show connection as MOBILE DATA
pppwidget was not written for the Prime OS version of Android, has not been tested under it by the developer, was never intended to work in Prime OS. It was intended for early Android smartphones and tablets which had been sold without 3G/4G support. Tell the developers of Prime OS to include RIL su...

Re: ZTE WCDMA Technologies MSM branded "Olax"
You can try adding a ff to the cmd, it may exclude the net interface from being "stolen" by the option driver.
echo 19d2 0581 ff >/sys/bus/usb-serial/drivers/option1/new_id
echo 19d2 0581 ff >/sys/bus/usb-serial/drivers/option1/new_id

Re: ZTE WCDMA Technologies MSM branded "Olax"
You won't break anything by trying to bind the option serial driver to an interface but there is not much use in doing that if the interface is of the wrong type. The Configuration Descriptor tells how many interfaces there are in a device, the Interface Descriptor tells the interface attributes Cla...

Re: ZTE WCDMA Technologies MSM branded "Olax"
ok, the 4 possible serial interfaces has become 3 since one interface was for ADB (Android Debug). Interface layout on the dongle: MI_00, MI_01 RNDIS net device MI_02 MI_03 ADB MI_04 MI_05 MI_06 USB Mass Storage Device (TF/SD card in the dongle) so interfaces 2, 4, and 5 are the possible serial inte...

Re: ZTE WCDMA Technologies MSM branded "Olax"
When I disable switching in /etc/usb_modeswitch.conf and remove/reinsert the device, the ethernet interface still works, and the product/vendor ID remain the same in both dmesg and lsusb so I assume this means the device *hasn't* switched already. Any advice you can provide would be most appreciate...

Re: Multiple connections on Android (bonded network)
Okay, the app itselt is not suitable but what about the rewritten coding about automatic USB_Modeswitch for the sticks. Lineage OS should not even have a need for pppwidget if they code their OS right. The whole source code for usb_modeswitch and its data package is free for the Lineage maintainers...

I think it is, we've had this device with the same problem here previosly, see viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2989
The response from cmds to LUN#0 is weird there also.

Re: Modeswitch not working while booting (Debian 11) but when re-plug the device
Ok, since the fault condition remains once it has appeared then I guess the problem is not in usb_modeswitch so you'll have to isolate it and find what it depends on. Does the dongle switch correctly on another host (hardware)? On another linux kernel version or another distro? An eject sequence in ...

Re: Modeswitch not working while booting (Debian 11) but when re-plug the device
You are getting a libusb timeout error (-7) for the first two of the four eject messages and it is the first two which are essential for switching your dongle. What happens if you do the cmd: sudo usb_modeswitch -W -K -v 0bda -p 1a2b after you had the switch failure when dongle is plugged in at boot...

Re: E3372h-320 (update 2020 version of E3372) automatically switches itself into ethernet mode
Why is this modem always automatically going into 14db? Most likely because its firmware is made to do that.. It might be intended to be used for Apple or Android. I would let it install as an eth device, pull an IP from it and open a browser to the built-in web server (at the dongles gateway IP) a...

What is your usb_modeswitch version?
What is the current USB Id (vid:pid) for the modem? Show me the output from lsusb -vd vid:pid

Re: E3531 comes as E3372 usb_modeswitch
The interface composition of 12d1:14dc is and has always been an eth interface pair and a storage interface for the TF-card, there has never been any serial interfaces in it. Main reason for that is eth does not have a command language/protocol so there is no need for a serial AT-cmd interface. The ...

Re: E3531 comes as E3372 usb_modeswitch
12d1:14dc is a USB Id after a device has been switched, this Id is used by many different Huawei devices. lsusb does not read the model string from the dongle, it is taken from a linux usb Id database which contains the first known device using that Id. Don't worry too much about it, it is only a co...

Re: FRITZ!WLAN Stick AC860 switches very slowly
I see from your log that this is a usb_modeswitch version where parts has been rewritten by Ubuntu developers, they have tried that for almost ten years and every version of theirs has introduced new bugs. Your log says that "Device is in install mode.", that is what it should be for usb_m...
