Hi,
First of all thanks for all the work on this great software and also for these forums, which have come very helpful to me before, though I've only registered now.
A quick report on an apparent regression of usb-modeswitch-data
between versions 20120815-2 (Debian Wheezy) and 20150115-1 (Debian Jessie).
This is for Huawei 3G sticks, to work in 'HiLink' (virtual ethernet router) mode,
switching from 12d1:1f01 to 12d1:14db.
The old package works out of the box, with the new one it stays as 'cd-rom'.
I have successfully switched it manually, based on the data file from the old package,
issuing:
usb_modeswitch -v 12d1 -p 1f01 -V 12d1 -P 14db -M "55534243123456780000000000000a11062000000000000100000000000000"
Apologies if this is a duplicate or a wrong place.
Re: Regression: Huawei 14db (E303, some E3131)
Which usb_modeswitch version do you have installed?
The 20150115 data package requires usb_modeswitch version 2.2.1 and can not be used with older versions.

Apologies for the late reply!
On the new system I used the Debian Jessie package, which is 2.2.0 (+repack0-2)
I'm pretty sure it works with that data package, as both were installed from the standard stable Debian repository.
