New in 2.6.0: dropping the install dependency on a tcl interpreter

Post by usbmodeswitchuser » 25 Mar 2020, 12:02

Josh announced 2.6.0 dropped install dependency on a tcl interpreter. Is that related to the README counting three flavours of installing? If yes, does it related to all three? Just to the 2nd,

Code: Select all

make install-dynlink
one? Something else?

Sorry for being not clear enough in the README, obviously.

There are still three flavours of installation as before. The difference to older versions is that the "embedded" flavours are using libjim from the system instead of the one "on-board". However, that change is unrelated to the one you are referring to.

Note that the dependency on a Tcl interpreter to be present was dropped for the install phase only (building, packaging). Either a Tcl interpreter or libjim will be required to have usb_modeswitch_dispatcher working after installation.
