Hi all,
I use a zte 3g usb modem for connecting to the internet which works
fine.
1) Now I need to buy a usb 4g (/5g) modem.
Mark and model is ZTE MF833U1, available in my region.
I wonder what are the possibilities not to be detected by OS
(Xubuntu 20.04) and so will not be useful,
This modem is provided packed and is not available for testing.
Is there any way to check what devices are compatible with linux
or search this info in the file ‘configPack.tar.gz ?
2) Is there a way to switch manually between networks available i.e from 3g to 4g of 5g if supported ?
Thank you in advance for any advice.

Having no other choice I finally purchased this modem and fortunately works fine at high speeds.
I noticed that operates differently of other modems. It is an ethernet network on usb in contrary with other which are mobile broadand network.

you can check the compatibility of the ZTE MF833U1 modem with Linux by searching for its driver online. You may also check if the modem is included in the list of supported devices for your Xubuntu 20.04 version. As for searching for compatibility information in the 'configPack.tar.gz' file, I'm sorry but I'm not sure about that.

Manually switching between 3G, 4G, and 5G networks on a USB modem often depends on the capabilities of the modem and the software provided by the manufacturer.
- Some modems automatically switch to the fastest available network, while others may have software that allows manual network selection.
- You can check if the modem comes with any management software for Linux that provides network selection options.
- If your modem is detected as a network interface (like `wwan0`), you can explore using command-line tools like `nmcli` or graphical network managers like NetworkManager to switch between networks manually.

I've always been interested in how I would do on an
iq test. I thought it was hard and took a lot of time
