Hello,

I use PPP Widget 3 on my car with my PX5 unit and Huawey E3372 153

Everything is ok if I put my car power on, insert the E3372, it gets connected after some seconds and no problem.

But, if I let the E3372 connected, put power off my car and I put again power On it doesn't work, I have to plug out and plug in again the E3372 and then it works.

Below is a picture of what happens when I put power on again with E3372 already plugged in (searching for modem in French or sometimes it displays Connected but no icon on status bar and no internet).

Can you help?

Can you specify the details of your PX5?
Which Android version? How did you root it - alternative ROM version?

There were several forum questions regarding car units recently, so I intend to buy one for testing ...

Then I can address your problem much better.

Android 8.0, Octa Core 4GB RAM
Malaysk ROM V2 installed

I have similar / same problem with my Joying device

I'm trying to test for a pattern..
One way or another, it's power related when you switch off car / ignition.

It's strange because sometimes when I put my car power On it gets connected (even after many hours)...
If it's power related, could you recommand me an OTG Y cable as I'm afraid to buy a wrong one?

The USB cable coming from the Joying IS in a sense an OTG cable

I have an OTG cable I tested with on my phone. Is has no use or function on Joying becuse USB cables are present

We just need to work with @josh to sort out what happens when we get back into our car

For me, the only solution at the moment is manual connection and, before I get out; I disconnect.
When I get back into car I get different scenarios.
- same as you are finding (I have to re-boot)
- it works

Mystery we will solve somehow..

Yesterday, I tried stick firmware for my E3372, It doens't get connected anymore, I tried alternative huawei method, same result. So I'll go back to HiLink firmware
Do you recommand a specific HiLink firmware version?

Hlink firmware WILL NOT WORK

Hlink firmware numbering starts with 22

You must have firmware numbering staring with 21....

For me it works with HiLink firmware (22...) but I have problems listed at the beginning of this topic
It doesn't work at all with Stick firmware (21...)

I found this on/off switch with data (not only power, HmbG-1401), I hesitate ordering it
I'll make some tests with white list apps on the Hal9k ROM and if it doesn't work I'll buy this switch
