Collecting Info for Huawei E3372
Hi everyone, I’m Skyler, new here. I first heard about USB_ModeSwitch while helping my brother set up his old Huawei E3372 4G USB dongle, and he actually gave it to me to try on my Linux laptop. I’m curious about how to get it working properly, but I’m not sure which hardware details I need to gather before attempting sniffing. From what I’ve read, important info usually includes the vendor ID (VID), product ID (PID), device class, interface numbers, and descriptors like iManufacturer, iProduct Pips NYT, and iSerialNumber. Could someone guide me on the safest way to collect this info for the Huawei E3372 and maybe share beginner-friendly tips for sniffing?
Re: Collecting Info for Huawei E3372
There should be no sniffing required. All current Linux distributions carry usb_modeswitch nowadays, and the E3372 has long been known and supported.
